Travellers originating from countries where yellow fever or polio is prevalent must ensure they have received up-to-date vaccinations against these diseases before entering Sri Lanka. While there are no other compulsory immunizations required for travelers to Sri Lanka, it is advisable to be current with vaccinations for Diphtheria, Tuberculosis, Japanese B Encephalitis, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Rabies, and Tetanus.
Dengue fever is widespread across Sri Lanka, and unfortunately, there is no vaccine available for it. Prevention primarily involves minimizing exposure to mosquito bites. Although Sri Lanka is considered a low-risk area for Malaria, it’s prudent to consult with your local general practitioner or travel clinic for personalized advice on the appropriate immunizations and preventive measures.
